i am weird because...
i can't eat bacon plain, but agree it makes any sandwich better
i believe all cats are out to kill me
i'm 19 and still pack my purse to the brim full of snacks for 3 hours of church
i have a hard time sitting through a movie, but could watch a TV series for several hours straight
i don't believe in over the counter drugs. at all. my parents have been trying to teach me otherwise for years, but i truly think it's just all in the head

i am a bad friend because...
i have become an annoying homebody, like really..i love just being home and never want to go anywhere
i'm selfish
i let some of you go without trying
i'm not open and honest about my feelings. i bottle everything up.
sometimes i can be really, realllyyy stubborn

i am a good friend because...
i try my best to stay in touch
i try to remain positive and always look for the good in others, even when it's sometimes difficult
i want all of my friends to succeed
i am loyal and really do care about you
i remember all of our best memories

i am sad because...
it seems like i keep distancing myself further and further away from the people i care most about
of the choices people close to me continue making
i could be more charitable, grateful, patient, etc.
i miss my family daily
nobody likes me and it seems like i will never get married. ever.

i am happy because...
i am currently drinking a mix of fresca and mountain dew- try it, it's delicious
i quite possibly have the greatest roommate/friend. she puts up with my moods/rants/me keeping the light on when she's going to bed/talking in my sleep/late night slap happy craziness and so on and so on. my life would not be the same without her
i have a selfless and giving family who i know would do anything for me
rexburg summer weather is warm and beautiful and the sun doesn't set til after 10
i live 5 minutes from the temple and i love seeing it every day and the constant reminder it gives me

i am excited for...
our family trip to China
FLORIDA on july 23rd...helllloooo friends, beaches and publix subs!
the day I get married (in a long time)
when I have a family of my own (see previous parenthesis)
a break from homework, tests and attending classes

**i don't usually post super personal thoughts on here, but it's kind of sad that it was much easier to think of negative attributes of myself and what i'm sad about rather than more positive and uplifting thoughts. i've been having a really difficult few days. let's just say, i need an attitude adjustment and start focusing on all the good in my life, because i truly do have a lot to be grateful for!

on that note...i'm going to start taking this advice to heart:

Jef with one F...and some soccer

Honestly, there are few things in this world that rank higher on my "favorite activities" list than watching the Bachelorette in my bed with two of my best friends. Best show + best people = GREAT night :) Brooke's boyfriend had a soccer game at 10 so afterward, we bundled up and headed to the upper playing fields to watch "the Losers" (seriously, that's their team name....so self deprecating!) lose. After the game, we got taco bell, came home and partied all night! (When do we not???) ;)

p.s. Have I mentioned that I seriously LOVED having Savannah here???? Well, I did. <3 <3 <3

Wedding Part 2

Pictures are worth a thousand words so I'll let them speak for themselves. Last Saturday was a beautiful day and we're so happy to welcome Janyssa into the Evans' clan! The day was wonderful, everyone was happy, the bride looked stunning and temple square is just breathtaking and humbling and gorgeous and perfect...enough said.

Evening with the Fam

Monday night, we decided to go to Family Home Evening (since I hadn't been in forever...) The boys planned the activity, so of course we played basketball and futsal in the I-center courts. It was really fun though and I was so glad Savannah was there! It reminded me of the good ole days when we would only go to church activities if we were both there. #inseparable

*I wish I would have taken pictures while we were playing, or of a group shot...I always think of these things too late!

 Even though Brooke has a torn ACL and is waiting to have surgery...she went and played with us. She ended up hurting her knee so while we were trying to help her walk home, a random guy asked if she needed help. Against Brooke's wishes, we told him to carry her home. He was all smiles and picked her up with no hesitation. You're welcome random boy for making your day.

Mesa Falls with Vannah

One of the days Savannah was here we decided to drive up to Mesa Falls after my classes to see the beautiful waterfall! Little did I know (and I don't even think she really knew) that Savannah was TERRIFIED of heights. You have to drive up a mountain and there aren't any rails so we had a little freak out on the way up. Luckily we lived to tell the tale and all was well, (that kind of, sort of rhymed ?) and the view was beautiful. We got in touch with nature, which was either a good or bad thing...depending on who you talk to. The amount of mosquitos that made my car their new home was not okay, but other than that...it was worth the trip!

 Afterward, we stopped at the famous Frostop in Ashton (okay, so it's not THAT famous...) and got dinner. Of course I had to get a picture of Savannah drinking a root beer float in front of the spinning root beer mug :)

And wedding season begins...with Andrew and Janyssa!

I'm actually blogging only a day after the event!!! Whaaaat?! This never happens. My cousin Andrew and his beautiful bride Janyssa were married yesterday in the Salt Lake temple, which marks the official start of wedding season. Currently I know of four weddings I'll be in attendance of this summer. I guess that's what happens when your in college...and a mormon ;) Their wedding day was gorgeous..they could not have asked for better weather! I heard the sealing was amazing, her dress was stunning, they both looked so happy and their love for each other was evident!

The ring ceremony and reception was in Pat and Teresa's backyard and it was completely transformed! I loved the stringing lights, lanterns, dance floor, amazing chicken kebobs (sp?), photos along the fence and vintage bird cage for holding cards. Unfortunately, I sucked at taking pictures last night (already regretting that) so I don't have too many to share (I will post what I have in another entry though) but everything looked wonderful! I'm so excited for the happy couple and that Janyssa and her adorable little girl Eva are now part of our family. #forevaaaa

Monday- Photo shoot in the Gardens

So this is the last post of Sam and Taylor's visit :( On Monday, we had a relaxed day since it has been go-go-go until then! We slept in, I took a test, we went to Mill Hollow for lunch (best sandwiches ever) and of course got snow cones (again). After my evening class, we toured campus and took lots of pictures in front of signs, the temple and in the gardens!

Them coming to visit meant the world to me! It was a blast and we had a great time. <3

Sunday-Yellowstone National Park

After going to sacrament meeting, we went home, changed and headed up to Yellowstone (about an hour and a half drive.) The drive was gorgeous and we had a blast together!

Someone was a little too excited to get there..

On the side of the road, there was a bunch of bison just chillin. So obviously we stopped. Little did we know, one was about to get really, really angry and start charging. All the admiring people ran to their cars faster than we could blink (including Taylor, who so kindly yelled out the window commanding Sam to take pictures.) Thanks Sam, for risking your life in order to take the perfect picture :)

We got super lucky when we got to Old Faithful. The geyser erupts every 90 minutes and when we arrived, we only had to wait about 7 minutes. Thanks Taylor for being the luckiest person alive. You're the best to travel with for that reason. (and other reason too, of course.)

We finished the night with walking around and dinner in downtown Yellowstone. When we got back to Rexburg, we went for a walk, got the move "Gone" from redbox, enjoyed a night of air mattress jumping/flying, Bri making omelettes at 2 a.m. and laughing all night. Another great day!
