Day of Love

Woah, it's February 16th already?! As I always say...WHERE IS THE TIME GOING??? Dear life, please, please, pleeeease slow down.

Anyway, I am not the biggest fan of Valentines Day and most people know that. I'll admit it, it's since I have no one to share the dreaded holiday with. It's seems like my only roommates who are ever home are both engaged and I'm either the third..or the fifth wheel. It's wonderful. Maybe I'm bitter. Okay, okay.. I'm definitely bitter. I was not looking forward to this day of love at. all.

However, it turned out to actually be a great day. I am so, so grateful for love. And the ability I have to love. Sure, I would've enjoyed sharing the day with a significant other, but I realized something this February 14th. I am loved. I need to allow others to love me and I need to love myself. I often guard myself from getting too attached to someone for fear of getting my poor little heart broken. I need to let that go and live life to the fullest. (Sounds cliche, I know..) So instead of spending the night loving on a boy, I loved myself...

I took a long, hot bubble bath. Then decided I hate baths and took a long, hot shower.
I painted my nails.
I got caught up on Modern Family.
I drank hot tea.
I wrote in my journal.
I ate chocolate. Cadbury eggs, to be exact. (Is it too early for easter candy?? Oops.)

It's okay to be alone on Valentines Day and I truly believe that.

I love my family-immediate and extended. I'm blessed to be close with all my cousins, aunts & uncles, grandparents, etc. on both sides. Even my second cousins.. we're a close knit bunch!
I love my friends. Old and new. I seriouslyyyyy lucked out when it comes to having the best group of friends. I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to grow up with. Also, I've made friendships living on my own, here in Idaho that I know will last a lifetime.
I love the people I encounter every day. Roommates, classmates, ward members. Everyone has potential to be a friend and everyone needs to feel loved.

I'm the luckiest girl. And to whoever still reads this little blog of mine, I love you!

^shout out to Miss. Match (Lauren) for sending me a love songs mix tape in the mail. Totally surprised and totally made my day!! Told you I have the best friends.
