Lately.

This blog's been a little slow lately but it's a good thing because life sure hasn't been. The past few weeks have been some of the best I've had up here in a long, long time. Maybe ever. It's no secret I was struggling earlier this semester but lately I have been doing so much better. I truly mean that.

The warmer weather has put me in a great mood and all I ever want to do is spend my time outdoors. Homework, studying and classes have become the last thing on my mind and I'm paying for that (I keep telling myself it's all part of the college experience to fail a class..am I right?!?) but on the bright side, there's less than a month left of school left. It's just, so much is always going on that it's SO difficult to stay inside! I'm currently loving everything Idaho has to offer and trying to make the best out of life!

I do everything with my best friends up here Haley, Kenzi and Jessica and words cannot express how grateful I am for them! Life is always a party when we're together and I can't thank them enough or put into words how much I appreciate our friendship. Thinking of school ending and not seeing these girls every day gives me anxiety!

Sooo, a little recap of the past few weeks:

-we celebrated one of the first warm days at Rigby lake. we were too chicken to get in the water, definitely not the temperature I'm used to!
-too many taco bell/sno cone runs to count
-nightly runs with Jess & Kenz
-a lotttt of laying out has taken place in front of the apartment. workin' on that tan.
-lots of late night chats about everything you could ever think of. uncontrollable laughter usually goes along with this.. people would think we're a bunch of crazies.
-long drives out to the dry farms, just to talk. or blast music and sing.
-trips to the st. anthony sand bar to lay out, swim in the river, jump off the diving board, slide, etc...
-we "hiked" up R mountain one night to watch the sunset. definitely missed it but Jess found $5, I was convinced a rattle snake was going to attack me and Hank ran up the mountain and left us in the dust. typical ;)
-focusing on what i'm grateful for each day and participating in a scripture reading challenge
-being the best cheerleaders ever at a friend's football games
-watching the bachelorette and making fun of every guy weekly.
-going on a shooting date in the middle of nowhere. and in the middle of the night.
-endless nights of baking. apple pie? check. homemade red velvet cake? check. cookies, banana bread, brownies have all been made in the past couple of weeks. i have an obsession. (and I can't eat any of it!)
-bonfire after bonfires
-a group of us went to the ice caves. coolest place ever! the drive was a little sketchy and we weren't quite sure if Perri was going to make it. we explored the cave (it went really far back, was pitch black and completely covered in ice!), Hank had his dirt bike and took people for rides and it was such a fun night!
the beautiful Idaho sky

Obviously there's a lottt more memories made that are not captured but I'm glad I have this blog to remember some of the little events in my life. Also, still working on that goal to take pictures with my ACTUAL camera...it's not going well. My phone is just too handy.

Cabin in the Woods.

Weekends always come and go wayyy too fast. The anticipation of Monday morning on a Sunday night is the worst feeling ever. The list of homework to complete, laundry to do, room to clean, tests to study for is exhausting...that's why I'm blogging instead. I think it's safe to say I'm pretty much pro when it comes to procrastination.

This weekend consisted of an overnighter in Island Park. Our friend has a cabin up there, right on the lake. When he invited us, we definitely jumped on the opportunity! 9 guys, 5 girls..I'd say the odds were in our favor :) Card games were played, snacks were eaten, country music was blared, movies were watched, a midnight polar bear plunge took place (where I was the only girl who did it..say what? the water felt like a pool of melted snow), sleep talking was heard, breakfast was served (by the boys, I'll add), boating, wake boarding & tubing were enjoyed, the wind was freeeezing and fun was had by everyone.

Idaho is a beautiful place. Cold, but beautiful. This Florida girl still doesn't know what cold water feels like but being with all my Idahoan friends made me feel like a local.
