The Hot Springs

Since January, Haley and I have been dying to go down to Lava Hot Springs. So Friday night we invited some boys and made the 2 hour road trip down to Lava to soak in the several all-natural hot springs down there. I remember going there as a kid with my cousins and having a blast, and last night definitely lived up to my childhood memories. The boys we went with are hilarious and we had so much fun sharing stories, blowing the air horn at people (especially the terrified student driver on the freeway), not getting lost, being in presence of a famous person (haha), pulling over on the side of the freeway to take pictures, thinking up music video ideas, laughing, blasting music and singing at the top of our lungs on the drive. The fact that they all knew every word to Shania Twain's "Man, I feel like a woman" was priceless and I wish it had been recorded. Really, the only sad part is that I was HORRIBLE at taking pictures. I really need to get better at that. But oh well, the memories will have to do. Such a successful Friday night! (and we made it home in time for the daily curfew show that occurs in room 419). Deff a success :)

After we left the hot springs, we ventured around downtown Lava (mind you, the population is about 480 so you can just imagine what the "downtown" looks like) and Shane found the cutest little ice cream parlor/vintage candy shop. I got Idaho's famous huckleberry ice cream and it did not disappoint!

A Super Sunny Saturday

Mother Nature blessed Rexburg with sunny 52 degree weather on Saturday, and so obviously Haley and I had to take full advantage of the beautiful day! It's so weird, because if it was anything below 70 degrees in Florida, no doubt I would be wearing jeans and a sweatshirt. However here, if it's anything above 50, I'm out in shorts and a t-shirt basking in the sun!!! I didn't realize how badly I missed those beautiful, warm, sunshiney rays on my face! To celebrate, me and Haley decided to go for a run. Naturally, we ended up at Jamba Juice and then we may or may not have hit up a pretzel place on the way home. Whatever. It's the fact we ran there that matters, right? I am so happy Spring is finally on the horizon so we can have more outings like this!!
p.s. Good news: I lost 4.6 pounds this week! Wahoo! I'm finally starting to feel better about myself and am more motivated. Step by step. And by motivated, I mean I look at my "thinspiration" board on pinterest every second of every day. Which makes saying "no" to delicious ice cream sundaes and pizza a little easier. And when I say easier, I only kind of, sorta mean it.

p.s.s. The Bachelor finale is tonight!!! FHE?? What's that?!? I'll defff be at a viewing party at 7 p.m. sharp. Holla!

Weekend Update

Saturday was my mom's birthday, so my dad surprised her and they flew out to Salt Lake for the weekend!! We had a blast, and I'm so grateful to be close to Stephen and Rachel so we get to see each other more often!

Saturday night, dad treated us to dinner at the Roof Restaurant, which is at the top of the Joseph Smith Memorial Building and overlooks Temple Square. Stunning views!!! I love downtown SLC, and sometimes wish I really went to school there, or that Rexburg was a little closer. But I guess a 4 hour drive is still closer than a 40 hour drive!! I love spending time with my fam, especially when we're at a buffet that serves prime rib, shrimp, salmon and about 30 different desserts. Really though, there are few things I can think of that are better. #starvingcollegestudentprobz

Breathtaking, right?? Can't wait to be married there someday.
