The two best friends that live 2225.94 miles away

And why yes, I sure did look up the distance from the BYU-Idaho campus to FSU. It would only take like 35 hours to drive....so, who's down?? Anyway, the day after the Lady Antebellum concert, me and Haley had to wake up superrrr early, drive 4 hours in the worst blizzard and then go to all our classes. We were exhausted and grumpy, but then I got that beloved little email from the campus auxiliary building saying a package had been delivered for me!! Nothing makes my day more than getting a package, especially from the best of the best..Sam and Taylor!! I know you two have been checking my blog on the daily just waiting for this post, so here you go! Sorry I'm so behind! I love you two and again, thank you SO much! Now come visit me :)

If you can't read that, they sent me a box with 19 different items and the reasons for them since I turned 19! So creative!
1. A princess tiara, because it's your bday so therefore you are a princess today--wear it!
2. Big sunglasses, because they are fun and silly, and hopefully make you remember our wonderful sunny days together in Florida
3. Water guns, to play with your roommates with. It was conveniently a set of 4!
4. Leis, because they are awesome and should make you think of Hawaii-where we will be going one Spring Break to visit Savannah
5. Shoe laces, because they are so fashion forward and may come into good use because you are gonna be working out all the time--woohoo!
6. A blow horn, because who doesn't love or want one?!?
7. Silly Putty, because we couldn't not send that greatness to you on your birthday
8. Bump it (knock off hehe), because you are close to Utah again and we know how those ladies like to style their hair-fit in :)
9. Expanding fairy towel, because it's so amazing and fun to watch grow! Oh, and Gary is just so cute too!
10. Cash money! (it's fake though, don't try to use it...)
11. Spiderman watch, because it is so stinking cool, and you'll get spidey senses when you wear it
12. A glow stick, to use while you rave obvi...and it's a heart because we love you so much <3
13. To-do pad, because we figured you  may actually use that
14. Ponchos, for when it rains (or snows?) Obvi...
15. A Chicken Soup for the Soul themed word search, because it could entertain you when you're bored and we assumed you probably enjoyed Chicken Soup books at one point in your life..
16. Silly string, to attack someone with, and because it is just fun/awesome no matter what!
17. A framed picture of the three of us to put in your room (and so you can see our lovely faces everyday) :)
18. A card from Sam
19. A card from Taylor....because it's your birthday, duh!

P.S. You could totes blog about this, that would be oh so acceptable
^^I got the hint, guys ;)

I have to say, the blow horn has by far been the fan favorite. My roommates LOVE me ;) And the cards were extremely appropriate as well. You guys are so thoughtful and awesome and amazing and the best friends a girl could ask for! I wish we were all at the same school, but we will be reunited soon enough! I'm so grateful we stay in touch and I can't wait for the day when we're neighbors in North Carolina living the dream with our hot, doctor husbands! <3

We Own the Night

Honestly, I never expect much out of Valentines Day...as it's not particularly my favorite holiday. HOWEVER this year, Stephen and Rachel got me a ticket to the Lady Antebellum concert on the day of love down in Salt Lake for my birthday. Greatest gift ever! Rach's sister wasn't able to go last minute, so I was able to invite Haley which made it that much greater! I was so glad I didn't have to make the four hour road trip by myself and we had a blast skipping school, jamming to music and making a fun trip out of it.

Lady Antebellum was incredible, to say the least. You have not truly heard Lady Antebellum until you've heard them live. The chemistry on stage was so strong, they really interacted with the audience and the band was AMAZING! They just sounded so great, and I enjoyed every minute of it. Also, Charles Kelley is unbelievably sexy...so that was a bonus. Not to mention the company was fabulous and so fun, thanks for taking me Rach! (like she'll ever read this...) ;)

Headed out the door for our road trip!
Speaking of Valentines Day, the weekend before, me and Haley stayed up til 3 a.m. Saturday night baking 100+ cookies (both chocolate chip & sugar) to spread the love and pass out to the boys dorms. I swear, if that doesn't get us dates....all hope is lost. We seriously spent 10 hours baking, and it only took 10 minutes to deliver. SO I decided next time, we're going to just hang up a flyer that says "hot, freshly bakes cookies in room 419".. then they have to come to us!
And yes, I know I'm an outfit repeater. It was my V-day outfit!! <3

Love is in the air...gag me.

Okay, not that I'm anti-love or anything, obviously I'm just jealous so the natural reaction is to hate all happy couples I see around Rexburg. Maybe it's because it's February and there are cut-out hearts decorating the campus, people waving lollipops and flowers in my face, cute/annoying couples holding hands everywhere I turn and my constant need to listen to country love songs and watch Nicholas Sparks movies. Okay so I admit, that last thing is my fault. But whatever. This weekend has just reminded me even more of my non-existent love life. All thanks to seeing the Vow...I now want someone to love me unconditionally even more! I want someone to be my own Nicholas Sparks character, someone who I can tell everything and to make me feel loved, safe and secure. I know it'll eventually happen, but as of right now..I'm really hating this month of love.

Seriously, thank you Mr. Sparks for making me have extremely high and unrealistic expectations in guys.

But as of right now, I am SO grateful for all my "loves" who currently hold my heart. I love my parents. (I can always count on a Valentines Day gift from my mom). I love my brother and sister-in-law. I love my extended family. I love my wonderful friends, who are scattered all across the country and the new ones I've made here in Rexburg. I'm truly blessed to be surrounded with so many people who love me. That's what celebrating this Valentines Day is all about. So after all, maybe love being in the air isn't the worst thing in the world to happen.

p.s. I meant to post this before Valentines Day, but ya know...life got in the way. Woops.

19 and Crazy

I spent this past weekend in Utah for my birthday and it was perfect. Conveniently, my birthday was on Sunday so my parents flew up Friday night and we non-stop partied all weekend long! Friday night was my "birthday dinner" so I got to choose where to eat. So naturally, I chose Rodizio Grill. BEST. RESTAURANT. EVER. It's a Brazilian place, and everything is so delicious! Guys come around to all the tables with skewers of different meats, vegetables and my fave, grilled pineapple. The salad bar is heavenly, the Brazilian limeade is to die for, and it's all you can eat. What's not to love? (also, thank you Rachel for being super awkward and making me take a picture with the sexy meat guy.) The next day after a big pancake breakfast, me, mom and Stephen hit the slopes. Let's just say, I'm not necessarily the bestttt skier in the world, but I'll get there someday. However, it was beautiful outside and we had lots of fun! Later that evening, me and Rach picked up Beth, went back to the apartment and got ready for dinner. Dad treated us all to an amazing Indian restaurant that was so good! I was introduced to sub-zero ice cream..um, where has that place been all my life? Then me, Beth, Stephen and Rachel went to an all improv comedy show that Rach's brother was in. It was hilarious, and a perfect ending to a wonderful Saturday. Beth slept over (where we shared an extremely uncomfortable air mattress...that still has me wanting to cry out in pain every time I turn my neck) and we had lots of fun catching up. It was SO great being able to see and spend time with my best friend. Why must we all live sooooo far away from each other?!? I hate it! Sunday morning, my dad's family met at the country club for a big birthday brunch celebrating me and Aubrey's birthday! I loved seeing everyone. Even though I hate to admit it, Utah is home and seeing the familiar and loving faces of my family makes me so happy. After brunch, I headed back to Stephen and Rachel's apartment and opened gifts, watched TV and packed. Sadly, Jessica arrived and we made our long trek back to Idaho (where Haley and Eliza had one of my favorite dinners on the table, a cake in the oven and the kitchen decorated!!) And as much as I didn't want to leave my friends and family in Utah, it feels good to be back in good ole' Rexburg. It's finally starting to feel like home now!

Home sweet home!
Also, I'm not sure why there aren't any pictures of my dad or Rachel. They were definitely there participating in all the fun!!

And in honor of being 19 years old, I can officially sing this song all I want for the next year, and you bet I sang it loud and proud on Sunday...

February...say what??

WHAT?! I can't believe it's already February, aka the month of love. However, my love life is non-existent, therefore to me, it's the month of my birthday, a trip to Cali, Lady Antebellum concert, leap day, and it's also the shortest month of the year! January went by superrr fast, I honestly don't know where it went! My days are SO busy, and even though I hate to admit it, blogging has been moved to the end of my to-do list. There just aren't enough hours in the day to do it all! But, for all you faithful readers (yes, I'm talking to you Sam) I PROMISE I'll be better, because I really do love it and I want to remember all the little happenings of my day to day life. In the meantime though, this is a little recap of the past few weeks in photos. (Also..another goal is to take pictures with my camera more..I've been completely reliant on my phone!)

Yeah, me and Haley bake a lot...
Attempting to decorate and make our apt. a little more "homey"
Me and Haley gave Eliza a "makeover"--we dyed and styled her hair and did her makeup..followed by a photo shoot. SO fun!!
Not paying attention in math..
Me and Brooke at Devo :)
A girl in one of my classes that I NEVER talk to overheard me saying when my birthday was weeks ago, and then surprised me with cookies on Thursday. How nice is that?!

Other little things going on in my life:
-I signed up for the "Biggest Winner" on campus..meaning I'm on a team and have a personal trainer, nutritionist and work out 5-7 hours a week. I'm feeling the burn and LOVING it so far!
-Rexburg actually hasn't been that cold, which I'm extremely grateful for.
-The fact that one of my professors gives us treats every class makes me oh so happy...and also that another professor just shows us youtube videos for the first part of class every day. #sothisiscollege??
-I've got my roommate hooked on Ellen and One Tree Hill. I'd say I've influenced her for good.
-I'm going to SoCal over Presidents Day Weekend and I'm SO excited!

Well, that's all for now. I LOVE attending BYU Idaho..I really feel it's where I am supposed to be and I'm truly grateful for the opportunity I have to go here. And like I said, I promise I'll blog more and keep y'all up to date with my (pretty boring) life!
