Oh yeah...the holidays happened

Where did November & December go?! Those months just FLEW by..and how is it already the end of January?!? Alas, here is a glimpse of the 2012 holidays..starting with Thanksgiving.

My family is so anti-getting their picture taken, so I don't have many...but Thanksgiving this year consisted of going up to Idaho to spend the day with my entire mom's side (minus one family). It was fun seeing everyone and gathering at my aunt Cindy's house.

The day was spent eating, football watching, game playing, cooking, eating again, more football watching, being entertained by crazy kids, napping, birthday celebrating, eating more (pies, cake &  cupcakes this time) and ending the night by going to the theater to see Lincoln.

Sometimes

Sometimes I find myself not having the desire to do anything except cuddle with blankets in my bed, drink hot tea and watch netflix for hours.

Sometimes I forget how much I love Little Debbie oatmeal creme pies. I know they are like super processed and terrible for you, but something about them screams childhood and they're just oh, so delicious.

Sometimes I complain a lot about my current single life/no friends status. But then realize it's just bringing me down and I'm not doing anything to change it. I need to focus that attention on something else, something greater and better myself.

Sometimes I wonder why I ever moved back up to Idaho. Being back in Utah over the weekend has reminded me how much I love living there..and in an actual city.

Sometimes I want a dog. More like all the time, really. A home really isn't complete with out a little furry, licking, cuddly friend.

Sometimes I decide to randomly post on the ride board at school. And then sometimes I end up meeting some pretty interesting/cool people and spending 4 hours in a car with them.

Sometimes I reminisce on high school days and look through old pictures with friends. This picture was my favorite of the night. Happiness just radiates and I love it. I had the best friends and grew up in the best place on earth. I'm so grateful.

Two Thousand Twelve

I'm a little late doing this, but wanted to highlight the year all in one post. 2012 went by so fast! I rang in the year in my home sweet Tampa bay with some of my best friends. Shortly after, I moved to Rexburg and started school at BYU Idaho. It was my first winter away from the Florida sunshine and it was brutal. I spent my birthday skiing with the fam down at Brighton and the rest of the semester trying to stay inside and warm. Spring semester consisted of fun, relaxation and VISITORS! Sam & Taylor came for a week and we went to Jackson Hole for a rodeo, Yellowstone, hiking, Bear World, indulged in sno cones and so much more. Not only did they come, but Savannah also came for a few days! We drove up to Ashton to see the famous waterfalls there, went to FHE and soccer games and pulled an all-nighter filming & dancing around Rexburg's famous landmarks. (Famous? yeah, that's a stretch). Emily also came up for a night and we went to DQ (where they forgot my dipped cone..not okay) and I showed her around my new little hometown. The fact they came meant so much and made going to school in the summer bearable. The semester ended and I spent a couple weeks back home in Florida. The days were spent at the beach, in the pool and with friends. I went up to Tallahassee to see FSU with Sam, made a pit stop in Gainesville and drove to the East coast and spent a night in Cocoa. When I got back to Utah, it was wedding preparation like no other! Emily, the first of the sexy seven got MARRIED! Such an exciting time. In September, my family traveled to China for a few weeks!! It was such a wonderful experience and was probably the highlight of my year! I lived with Stephen & Rachel the last months of the year and absolutely loved it. I worked at Zupas, hung out with friends in Provo and got closer to my sibs. In November, I went to Dallas to visit Brooke and in true Texas fashion, went horse back riding! Christmas was celebrated with family, parties and lots of snow and I rang in the new year in my pj's, watching netflix and eating a bowl of oatmeal. Yay for not feeling well. Overall, it was a great year and I'm excited for 2013 and the adventures to come!

I just want to travel the world.

I wish there was a "travel" major offered here at BYUI..or anywhere for that matter. I just have such a strong desire to emerge myself in different countries, experience new cultures, help those in need and bring joy and smiles to beautiful faces like this man does. He displays happiness, all through a dance. You might've seen this already but watch it again. I dare you to watch without smiling. You can't. (:
